World of Warcraft’s community is grappling with allegations of widespread racism in its top-end raiding guilds

Two of World of Warcraft’s top North American raiding guilds have been called out for racist and intolerant behavior, sparking a wider discussion about racism and toxicity in WoW’s competitive scene. 

Early this week, an image gallery containing around 70 screenshots began circulating within different WoW communities showing 16 members of raid guild Clout Gang and Instant Dollars. Those images, taken from sources including private Discord servers and World of Warcraft’s in-game chat, show members of Clout Gang and Instant Dollars frequently using the n-word and making jokes about murdering Black people in addition to homophobic and sexist comments. Though far from the biggest guilds in WoW’s global raiding scene, Clout Gang and Instant Dollars are both top-tier raiding guilds on their respective servers.
