Bhopal: Remains of a specially designed pillar have been found in the complex of Bhojshala temple- Kamal Maula mosque in Dhar district in Madhya Pradesh during the scientific survey of the monument by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
This was revealed by a Hindu outfit activist who was present during the survey of the site by the ASI.
“Remains of a specially designed pillar have been found during the excavation of a particular area in the complex”, Gopal Sharma, an activist of a Hindu outfit, said.
The scientific survey of the monument is currently being conducted by ASI as per the recent directive by the Madhya Pradesh high court.
Mr Sharma also claimed that a circular base of a spire of a temple was also recovered during the excavation in a portion of the complex by the ASI four days ago.
The circular base is made of stone and still intact, he said.
However, his claim is contested by the Muslim side which said that the object may have nothing to do with a temple.
