A delegation of farm leaders and three Union ministers met at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi for the tenth round of talks over the three agricultural laws. The meeting was earlier scheduled to be held on Tuesday afternoon but the government had postponed it.
Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court issued a notice on the application filed by the Kisan Mahapanchayat for the reconstitution of the committee to help resolve the deadlock over the new laws. It asked the Centre to respond to the notice. The court also refused to pass orders on the Centre’s petition to stop the farmers’ planned tractor rally on Republic Day, saying is up to the police take a decision on it.
The leaders of farmers’ unions also held a meeting with the Delhi Police over their planned tractor rally on Republic Day. Bharatiya Kisan Union President Gurnam Singh Chaduni said the farmers have already told the police that they won’t face any disturbance because of the rally.
