Billionaire Petr Kellner Dies In Alaska Helicopter Crash–Five Die, Lone Survivor In Serious But Stable Condition

Petr Kellner, 56, the richest person in the Czech Republic, has died in a helicopter crash in the Alaskan mountains. His PPF group business confirmed by a statement online on Saturday that Kellner was amongst five who died, the incident remains under investigation.

With an estimated net worth of $17.5 billion, Kellner made his fortune in the early 1990’s selling office supplies before taking a stake in the biggest Czech insurer during its privatization. Today his business includes Home Credit, a consumer lending service, alongside a media and telecom portfolio holding interests in O2, Telenor and CME. His PPF Group claims to own assets totalling over $50 billion.
