‘Robotech: The Macross Saga HD Edition’ is now on the Switch.

Without any warning, it looks like an HD remaster for the Game Boy Advance game Robotech: The Macross Saga has appeared on the Switch. The choice of game is also a curious one, but it seems that Robotech is on the move again.
If you are unfamiliar with the Game Boy Advance game Robotech: The Macross Saga, then you are not alone. This was a very niche and not at all well regarded shmup that tied into the Robotech license.
The whole “Macross Saga” aspect ties into the fact that the first part of Robotech was a weird re-appropriation of the anime series Macross. The latter two parts of Robotech were also from anime series, that of Southern Cross and MOSPEADA.
That means this game features transforming variable fighters, which in Robotech are known as Veritechs, but in the original Macross called Valkyries.
