The Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change will release its much-anticipated peer-reviewed tub-thumper of a report at 8 am GMT on Monday. The last one was published in 2013, and the updater is expected to be bursting with existential horrors.
The mainstream media will list the most terrifying of these horrors, fleshing them out with recent footage of devastating floods, record-breaking heatwaves, and end-of-days wildfires. There will be less emphasis on what we can do about the climate crisis. (And it is a crisis.)
