The new iPad Pro is almost here and it already looks like it’s going to be the biggest upgrade to a tablet. But new reports show that the performance increase is going to be staggering.
A series of Geekbench reports seen by the excellent Joe Rossignol at MacRumors reveal a level of performance that’s highly impressive.
Here’s the thing: we’ve known for months that the processor was going to be fast. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claimed that they were going to be “on par” with the M1 in the MacBook Air.
That proved to be true, given that the processor in the iPad Pro literally is the M1.
The Geekbench 5 results which are quoted say that the next iPad Pro will be around 50% faster than the current model. That’s unprecedented, though it is what Apple told us when the product was first revealed.
